Introduction: REV HT6485 motor

REV's in-house developed, top-tier electric skateboard motor is one of the most powerful motors money can buy, and comes standard across all REV high performance products. After hundreds of hours of testing, development, and refinement, it has been engineered to be the most reliable and powerful than any previous motor of the similar size. Today, it stands as the most rugged and durable, most efficient, and highest power density motor in its class or of a comparable size.

Built with high-quality sealed bearings, windings rated to 220°C, N45UH magnets rated to 180°C, premium epoxy, a robust 2.5 mm thick steel can, tight tolerances, and extensive use of Loctite, our motor is purpose-engineered for the high-stress demands of electric skateboarding.

• The motor is designated HT6485, where HT stands for High Torque — delivering unrivalled torque and engineered specifically for extreme riding performance.

  The motor shaft features a universally compatible 8mm keyway. The flange shaft is made from a specially reinforced material and secured with five Grade 12.9 bolts, achieving exceptional structural strength.

• Rear CNC cooling vent works together with front angled ventilation holes to create a complete airflow circuit, providing significantly better heat dissipation than previous motors while effectively keeping out sand and gravel.

• The magnets use N45UH, the highest grade available on the market, offering outstanding resistance to high temperatures and demagnetization — far exceeding that of N45SH — and are further secured with retaining brackets and potting compound to ensure absolute stability under heavy loads. The motor operates flawlessly at temperatures exceeding 120°C. 

• The Hall sensor board is positioned at the rear and encapsulated in waterproof, dustproof potting compound for excellent reliability. With precision dynamic balancing, the motor has been tested up to 14,000 RPM, far surpassing the speed limits of standard motors, while delivering continuous, stable, and dependable power.

• The motor’s internal stator has been increased from the previous 50 mm to 55 mm, pushing the use of internal space to the absolute limit. A more compact overall size translates directly to better handling — so you get significantly more power output with the same external dimensions.

• The motor is equipped with a custom 9-pin waterproof connector that integrates the Hall sensor wires and supports hot-swapping, delivering a massive leap in both reliability and convenience.
